Here at Astwood Smiles Nursery, we understand just how difficult it can be for you to choose the right nursery for your child, especially with the stressful demands of modern working life. If you’re currently trying to find safe and caring childcare for your little one, Astwood Smiles Nursery in Redditch offers everything you could want.
Our team of qualified and experienced nursery staff work together to create a secure, friendly and cosy environment that provides lots of stimulation for your little one, and leaves you confident to place your child in our care every day. We believe that a happy child makes a contented parent, and our nursery has been designed to cater to your child’s needs.
We believe that in order to achieve excellent outcomes for the children, we need to invest in excellent people to look after them.
Astwood Smiles Nursery will encourage further training, enriching the practitioner with continuous knowledge and experience which, in turn benefits the children within the nursery.
Our extensive outdoor facilities have been designed by Alison Byng, our nursery manager and qualified forest school leader. With a wealth of experience consulting nurseries and schools on how to make the most of their outdoor spaces and how to use forest school in an early years setting, Astwood Smiles Nursery is passionate about the outdoors and we encourage children to play outside as much as possible.
The principle aim of the Nursery is to provide a safe, secure, happy and caring, stimulating and positive environment where children can learn and develop as individuals and benefit from the resources the Nursery has to offer. To provide children with confidence and the ability to communicate effectively with each other and their carers and therefore easing their passage into the formal education system.

Our indoor environment has been designed to be very homely to ease the transition between home and nursery, and we prioritise your child’s physical, emotional, intellectual and social wellbeing and development.
Your little one will be provided with a healthy and varied diet, lots of fresh air, play, and rest whilst in our care. We have a large selection of high quality and safe toys and activities for your child to choose from, and a wide range of learning materials both inside and outside to enjoy.
We believe in providing a healthy, well balanced diet for all the children in the nursery. Whether this is breakfast, lunch or high tea, we endeavour to follow the guidelines of Eat Better, Start Better, from the Children’s Trust.
It is very important to us that children are given a varied menu. At snack times, children are encouraged to make their own choices and we continue to support them in independent feeding. We firmly believe mealtimes should be a socially interactive, happy time between our children and practitioners.
